- 5 Steps to claim your success
Success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a process that is continually evolving. So think of yourself as somewhere in the process of creating your success. Regardless of how far you are on the path, you do yourself a huge favor by making the mental shift of claiming your success as early in the process as possible.
What do you mean by “mental shift”?
This is a shift that you make in your mind. It is the process of letting go of the results that you achieved in the past to accept your new success. Your desired goal here is to think of yourself as a work-in-progress in creating your success.
Reasons to Claim that You are Creating Success:
- Confidence: You initiate the transition. Shifting from a mindset of “I want this to happen” to “I am in the process of building it” recognizes your success as not somewhere out in the future if you are lucky, but unfolding now in front of you.
- Responsibility: You take control. Once you’ve claimed your success, you see that the only thing standing in your way of building it is yourself. You can find great assurance in knowing that you just have to keep yourself on track and do great work.
- Opportunities: You will be fully open to the opportunities that will present themselves.
This process of claiming your success is a subtle one. Yet you should think of your mental claim as being the step that grounds your commitment and ignites your energy to do the external work.
5 Steps to Claim Your Success:
Begin each day focusing on what you want to create. Mentally acknowledge that you are a work-in-progress on this path.
- Think consciously about the steps on your “to-do” list for the day from this mindset of being on the new path.
- Remind yourself frequently throughout the day that you have claimed your success.
- Approach every action you take from the perspective of being in the early days of building your success; taking the steps you need to be successful.
- End each day acknowledging the steps and progress you’ve made to step more fully into your vision. Create a mental image that recognizes that you have taken steps forward.
